1. Trading involves risk
Trading financial markets can result in losses. Some products, including leveraged foreign-exchange and CFD products, can produce rapid and significant losses.
A user should not assume that an MDL market observation, opportunity, scenario or research result will lead to a profitable outcome.
2. Leverage
Leverage can magnify both gains and losses. Relatively small market movements can therefore have a disproportionately large effect on a leveraged position.
3. Market and liquidity risk
Prices can move quickly and may gap. Market liquidity can change. Stop levels or intended prices may not always be available at the expected price.
4. Economic and event risk
Economic releases, central-bank decisions, political events, market shocks and unexpected news can materially change market conditions.
5. Execution and broker risk
Order execution, spreads, slippage, rejected orders, platform availability and broker-specific conditions can affect an actual result. MDL does not control third-party execution venues or broker conditions.
6. Technology and data risk
Market data, communications, software, internet connections and third-party services can be delayed, unavailable, incomplete or incorrect.
Technology should not be assumed to eliminate market risk.
7. Research, backtests and historical results
Historical, backtested, simulated and research results have limitations and do not guarantee future performance. Market behaviour can change.
7A. Private scanner and rule-match alerts
A private user scanner monitors conditions defined by the user. A YOUR SCANNER ALERT or rule match means only that those saved conditions matched the monitored data. It is not automatically an MDL or Founder-approved Opportunity and should not be treated as a guarantee, an instruction to enter a trade or evidence that the same result will occur in live markets. Historical scanner tests and simulated trade outcomes remain subject to the limitations described above.
8. MDL is decision support
MDL is designed to provide market information, research and decision-support tools. Its purpose is to help the user study a market situation, not to remove the need for individual judgment.
9. Do not follow any source blindly
Users should not blindly follow MDL, its founder, a research result, a signal provider or any other source.
A user should understand the opportunity and relevant risks before committing capital.
10. Personal circumstances differ
Different users have different objectives, financial circumstances, experience and risk tolerance.
Information one person considers useful may not be appropriate for another.
11. No guarantee
MDL does not guarantee profit, accuracy, uninterrupted service, successful execution or a particular market outcome.
12. Professional advice
Where a user requires personal financial, legal or tax advice, they should consider obtaining advice from an appropriately qualified professional.
